MotoGP 2012 Review

The start of the 1000cc era produced a scintillating season of racing as the 2012 MotoGP World Championship set pulses racing around the globe.

The official review brings you action-packed highlights from all 18 meetings, with stunning footage, interviews and comprehensive coverage of the defining moments of the year.

The season started with a magnificent battle between Yamaha’s Jorge Lorenzo and reigning World Champion Casey Stoner, racing for Honda. When the Australian’s title charge was halted by injury, teammate Dani Pedrosa found an almost unbeatable form, ensuring he would push fellow Spaniard Lorenzo every step of the way.

The incredible Stoner made an heroic return to claim victory at home in what would be his last year of MotoGP before retiring.

It proved another tumultuous year for Valentino Rossi at Ducati and Ben Spies at Yamaha, while Tech3 Yamaha teammates Cal Crutchlow and Andreas Dovizioso put on a series of captivating battles. Plus, fans were treated to remarkable performances from Alvaro Bautista and Stefan Bradl.

It was not only the beginning of the 1000cc era for MotoGP; 2012 also saw the introduction of CRT rules, adding an extra level of interest and excitement at every race.
